Wounded Wings by Shauna Allen

Shauna grew up an only child with two open and loving parents in Central Texas. She’s married to her high school sweetheart and is the mother to three fantastic (no, that’s not a typo!) teenagers—one she’s about to send off to the Air Force.

When she’s not writing, editing, or acting as a personal assistant to two NYT Bestselling authors, Shauna enjoys reading, movies with Gerard Butler, vacays to the beach, and hangin’ with the kiddos–even if they don’t like hangin’ with her!

Wounded.

Judged harshest by his own heart after the greatest of sins, Elijah Smith imposes the most brutal of punishments upon himself. He is now a fallen angel, cast down by his own hand—lost, suffering, caught between two worlds, and searching for redemption.
Scars.
Scarred emotionally and physically, Naomi Evans has always put her happiness aside to repay her debt to the one who saved her. Never quite fitting into her friendly little town after being abandoned as a child, she’s not sure love will ever find her aching heart.

Redemption.

New Destiny, Arizona will never be the same. Two strangers have rolled into town, shaking Heaven and Earth. One, a handsome loner is temporarily stranded and biding his time, quietly bestowing random acts of kindness on total strangers until he can be on his way. The second, an undercover Cupid named Michael, is determined to bring healing and true love.

His assignment? A fallen brother and his equally wounded soulmate.

Will Naomi be able to see past both their scars? Can Elijah ever forgive himself?

Is such redemption possible?

Book Trailer for Inked by an Angel, the first book in the series.

Q) What inspired you to write this story?
Actually, Wounded Wings was not originally planned as part of my Cupid Chronicles series. I had always intended it to be a trilogy. But, one fateful day, at one of our Northwest Houston RWA chapter meetings, I met Hope Ramsay and Carla Kempert. I told them about my books and angels. They were intrigued, and as we worked on world-building, they also asked me some of the hard questions, like “what’s the worst thing an angel can do?” and “what will happen then?” It really challenged and inspired me. Elijah, my hero, was truly born from that conversation, as I dreamed up an angel who had, in fact, done the “worst” thing an angel can do, and I had to know what happened next.

Q) How long did it take you to write?
Due to life constraints, Wounded Wings took about a year from start to finish.

Q) What is your favorite thing about writing?
There are lots of things, and it changes. There’s the rush of getting your dreams on the page, starting a new project, finally finishing and typing “The End.” But, right now, I’d have to admit it’s my circle of very close writer friends. They keep me sane and help my writing to shine.

Q) What is your least favorite thing about writing?
How hard it is! (But I still love it!)

Q) If you could be any famous person for one day, who would you be and why?
Does Gerard Butler’s masseuse count? LOL!

Q) What is the oldest thing in your fridge and how old is it?
With three teenagers in the house, nothing lasts, but I’d have to say the oldest thing is a bottle of apple flavored moonshine that’s two months old. (Not mine!)

Q) What can readers expect from you in the future?
Charlie’s Angel, a Cupid Chronicles Novella is coming this Valentine’s Day, and I’ve begun writing the fourth and final full length novel in this series, Cupid’s Last Stand, that I hope to get out by mid-2014.

Thanks so much for the Interview!
